Village of Round Lake Beach

During my internship with the Village of Round Lake Beach, I gained hands-on experience with zoning administration and public sector planning. My role covered various tasks from technical analysis to public engagement. 

I was responsible for managing active building applications, which included drafting staff memos and preparing public notice letters for special use and variance permits. I had the opportunity to present multiple cases in front of the Planning and Zoning Commission which helped improve my public speaking along with developing the ability to communicate complex code requirements to public officials and residents. 

Simultaneously, I worked to improve the village's ordinance by developing a new Land Use Table. This tool was designed to clarify zoning permissions, helping modernize the village's outdated regulations and improve transparency for the community.
